The former kingdom of Siam seems to have found a spot in Barcelona to bring us its exoticism and its ancestral cuisine. Open since 1998, Thai Barcelona | Royal Cuisine (before Thai Gardens) enjoys a very privileged location close to Passeig de Gràcia.
The restaurant welcomes us with a nice waiting area and staff dressed with the typical Thai clothes. The place boasts a warm, exotic decor with natural plants and faint light, and has different spaces among which we find a dining room for groups. The boldest ones can eat on the floor, as tradition says.
The Thai cuisine is one of the most elaborate in Southeast Asia. In spite of its predilection for spices and curries, here it is presented with milder flavours suitable for Western tastes. For first-timers, the tasting menu is he best choice.
